Went to Crewe this morning for 1Z36 "The Cambrian Coast" Positioning Tour as I had the car and wanted a shot of it with both 37706 and 37510/087 at the helm. Also was supprised to bag 92042 in its new DBS red and 66730 in new GBRF colours.

Went to Stafford via Crewe to try out a new location for me, and to get some of the intermodals. Highlights included 66710 on 4L34 aswell as the NMT and 70007/2 throughout the day. Also got 37667 and 087 at Crewe on the way back on 6K41 Valley - Crewe. Was a glorious day and although sun burnt, was very enjoyable. Thanks to Jack and Danny for the company.

Headed to Warrington for a few hours to make use of a spare day and some nice sunshine, and also because 60011 was on the coals and I wantred a shot of it in it's new guise. The day started with the Pen Ballast train at Chester before moving on to Warrington. Saw tug 011 aswell as 071 and 040 in Arpley yard (No shots sadly). Sadly I had to leave early afternoon due to work commitments but still a good few hours was had.

The first in a series of 3 trips this month to the Capital for University interviews. This time i had a breif layover at Milton Keynes Central on the way down, perfectly timed I thought for 90041 and the "Pretendolino", not to be the case sadly as the Birmingham - Euston turned up with 390052 at the helm. On the second day, after my interview i had an afternoon spare to I headed to South Kenton as it looked to be a good location. Was there for about an hour and managed to tick lots of locos off on freight, but sadly not many good pictures as I only had my compact camera with me and focus was a major issue.... Will be taking my propper one next week!

Decided to do a Day Ranger ticket around Cheshire today, as 31190/31601 were working a railtour and I wanted to photograph the coals at Warrington. Ended up heading to Crewe, Sandbach, Warrington before going back to Crewe via Chester. Was a good day out with some mates, lots of laughs! Cheers guys for the company! Went to Crewe today after being invited along to a Depot tour of Freightliner's Crewe Basford Hall. Was an epic day with 33 kops for me altogether! Lots of pictures of Freightliner locos aswell as general shots of the yard, alos got a chance to see 70007 "Fresh out of the box". In the afternoon, spent a few hours at Crewe station, not expecting much, however, ended up seeing 2 DB Schenker class 60's aswell as 31285 and 97303 on 5Z37 to Derby. All in all was a great day out, Thanks to Jack for the company and for inviting me. The shots in Crewe Basford Hall were taken whilst on the depot tour under the supervision of a member of Freightliner staff. This was a private tour of the depot and usually enthusiasts are not aloud to simply roam around at their own will. A plan to originally photograph 66730 on 4C77 at Helsby as it was running at lunch time quickly turned into an afternoon in Warrington. Just made it in time for 66730 (as it was running some 2 hours early) and also managed to photograph another 70 atlast! Also managed a few more shots of the DB 60's on the Liverpool coals. Headed for Warrington today to catch 60059 and 60013 on the Liverpool coal circuit. Also saw 66414 on 6Z82 aswell as 47500 on 5Z93 ECS move. Was a chance to try out a new lcoation for us, Walton Old Junction which gave some pleasing results aswell as the old favourates. Thanks to Luke and Richard for the company. Headed to Warrington Bank Quay for a couple of hours in the morning to get 55022 "Royal Scots Grey" on 0Z44 Castletown - Crewe driver training run. Also seen a couple of Freightliner runs and 92031 on 0Z42 from Crewe. Thanks to Matthew for the company on my short visit. Highlights: 55022, 92031

Rushed to Chester earlier than planned after hearing that 37601 and 37604 which were working 6K41 Valley - Crewe had left 2 hours early. Got to Chester just in time to photograph the pair. Then headed on to Warrington Bank Quay to catch 47739 on 0Z41 Crewe - Ribblehead for the logs to Chirk that night. Also had th chance to get some better photographs of 66841 on 6J37 again. Appologies for some minor focussing issues here and there, i am still to master this new camera....

Headed out this afternoon to give my new camera a test as there were a few things around worth photographing. I now have a Fugifilm S1730 which i belive is a big step up from my old compact camera (as some of the results are allready starting to show). Went to Helsby under the impresson that 70003 was working 4F03, turned out to be 70002 in the end. Then went to Chester to catch 6K56 but missed this by minutes due to my train being held at a red signal outside Chester. hung around for 48151 "Guage O Guild" on "The Welsh Mountaineer" back to Preston and 57315 on the WAG. Appologies for some minor focus issues and lighting problems with these images, i am getting used to using a viewfinder again....

Rushed to Chester after work today to see 66841 on the Chirk logs as i still hadn't seen it. Also hung around for 57316 on 1W91. Appologives for the slight blur on some of the images, the lens on my current camera is playing silly beggars, getting a new camera soon though hopefully.

Was lucky enough to get a ticket for this years DRS open day at Crewe Gresty Bridge Depot. Went along and was not dissapointed at the variety and what was put on, great job DRS! Saw 37409 being named "Lord Hinton" aswell as 37229 "Jonty Jarvis" finally! Cabbed 37409 and 57009. Also saw a few movemnts at the station before and after visiting the depot. All in all a good day was had, Thanks to Luke, Alex and Richard for the company as allways!
